Slice of Time - Slis Ama  Mindfulness sitting practice

Bilingual and Irish versions of the first track on the CD called A Slice of Time. The beautiful Suí meditation stools were the inspiration for this track, along with John O’ Donohue’s quote below, which describes the wisdom of trees. Made from sustainable Irish hardwood, each stool is literally a unique slice of time. The track helps create a deep connection into the earth, the experience of finding your roots, feeling grounded deep into the earth. From this steady space, you can reach for the sky. A solid settling practice creating the foundation for a fresh start, a new beginning and a sense of belonging. Making this available in the Irish language seemed like another way to ground the track as an authentic Celtic practice. Making it available as a bi-lingual practice, offers a unique experience to anyone who does not speak Irish but would like to connect with Celtic spiritually.

Much of our experience is literally superficial; it slips deftly from surface to surface. It lacks rootage. The tree can reach towards the light, endure wind, rain, and storm, precisely because it is rooted. Each of its branches is ultimately anchored in a reliable depth of clay. The wisdom of the tree balances the path inwards with the pathway outwards.

Slis Ama – as Gaeilge

Ba iad stólta áille machnaimh SUÍ an foinse spreagtha don rian seo, in éineacht leis an méid a dúirt John O'Donohue thíos, a dhéanann cur síos ar chríonnacht na gcrann. Déanta as crua-adhmad inmharthana Éireannach, is slis uathúil ama é chuile stól, i ndáiríre. Cuidíonn an rian seo nasc domhain a chruthú leis an gcré, teacht ar do fhréamhacha, agus aireachtáil go bhfuil tú fréamhaithe go domhain sa chré. Ón spás socair seo, is féidir leat bheith uaillmhianach. Cleachtadh daingean socraithe, ag leagan na mbunchloch do thús úr, tús nua, agus bheith ar do shuaimhneas. Rinne sé ciall dúinn an rian seo a chur ar fáil i nGaeilge chun é a bhunú mar chleachtadh uathúil Ceilteach.

Yoga Nidra/NSDR practice - guided lying down

The world’s first Yoga Nidra/NSDR practice ‘as Gaeilge’ (in Irish) invites you to explore the resonance of the ancient Irish language, guided gently by Derval’s soft Irish voice. This very special track called Well of Wisdom is available free in a bi-lingual version, an Irish version, and also in English. Making this track available in the Irish language seemed like another way to ground the track as an authentic Celtic practice. Making it available as a bi-lingual practice, offers a unique experience to anyone who does not speak Irish, but would like to connect with Celtic spiritually and enjoy the deep resonance of our ancient language.

Derval’s Well of Wisdom Yoga Nidra track was inspired by, and created in the Aran Islands, off the West coast of Ireland. It invites a deep sense of connection with the earth, with nature and inner nature. It opens us up to the deep well of wisdom, that is, the heart.

The Celts had an outdoor spirituality. Wells were regarded as sacred places, they had a divine presence. Bathing in the wells was believed to invite wisdom and healing.

Tobar na Críonnachta

Rian cothúil nádúrtha as Éirinn, a spreagann ceangal domhain leis an gcré, leis an dúlra agus leis an dúlra inmheánach. Osclaíonn sé muid do thobar domhain na críonnachta, is é sin....an croí. Bhí spioradáltacht lasmuigh ag na Ceiltigh, agus láithreacht a bhí mar bhunús de. Tugadh urraim don rithim nádúrtha, bhí nasc domhain leis an gcré. Féachadh ar thoibreacha mar áiteanna beannaithe, bhí láithreacht dhiaga acu. Chreidtí go dtiocfadh críonnacht agus leigheas as folcadh a bheith ag duine sna toibreacha. Fuarthas an spreagadh don rian ióga Nidra, Tobar na Críonnachta, ar Árainn, amach ó chósta thiar na hÉireann, agus ba ann a rinneadh é. 20 nóiméad.
