Whole School Support

School staff do not need 'another thing to do’, they don’t need another initiative, or more information about what they should be doing. All of the above causes more overwhelm.
In 2025 DCU research with over 1000 teachers (primary and post-primary) 86% of teachers reported moderate to high levels of personal burnout, 85% reported moderate to high work-related burnout. 85% identified workload as a direct contributor to burnout.
As the workload (external stressor) remains the same, something else needs to change i.e. the mental and emotional load (stress response). The antidote to school staff overwhelm and exhaustion is a no-nonsense nervous system reset using just a few of their 25,000 daily breaths daily.
Designed in response to; interaction with 10,000 teachers, feedback from principals who attended my Release & Reset zoom session (part of the Principals Leadership programme in Mayo Education Centre in April 2026) and a suggestion from former principal/leadership expert Máire Mac Nally to create an appropriate support.

In a brief session I can teach school staff to use their 25,000 daily breaths optimally. This is not an information session, it is an embodied experience where they feel the rapid benefits that happen when they change their pattern of breathing.
My work is based on science-backed practices that I teach on zoom to the general population of New York State through the TINRC (Trauma-Informed Resource & Network centre) and funded by the Office of Mental Health. I am one of the BBMF (Breath-Body-Mind Foundation) team of teachers, an organisation run by professors of psychiatry Dr Gerbarg & Dr Brown.
I have worked closely for many years with Mayo Ed Centre supporting teachers, principals and pupils. I have also worked closely with Dr Gerbarg & Dr Brown training breath teachers.
I co-produced and facilitated Ireland's first mindfulness and wellbeing course for teachers/principals in 2010, Mayo Education Centre and INTO hosted it for a number of years. Those courses were sanctioned by the Dept of Ed & Skills, and had over 10,000 participants.
The mindfulness and wellbeing arena became saturated, the quality of what was on offer was diluted.
I needed to move on, mindfulness was a great foundation, but more specific science-backed breathwork and deep rest practices were essential . Changing your pattern of breathing changes your emotional state, supports physical health, helps you access genuine rest and quality sleep. BBMF Research includes RISE Northern Ireland (regional Integrated Support for Education).
